3rd Destination Earth User eXchange
Overview
Destination Earth is a European Commission initiative aimed at developing a high-precision digital model of Earth for modelling, monitoring, and simulating natural phenomena, predicting environmental changes, and supporting sustainable development.
EUMETSAT, ECMWF, and ESA oversee the implementation of the project, leveraging their expertise to engage users and build partnerships through an open stakeholder dialogue. The Destination Earth User eXchange series plays a central role in showcasing the initiative’s progress and demonstrating its value to interested parties.
Objective
The third User eXchange aims to convene current and prospective users of DestinE and developers of the DestinE system. During various sessions the resources available to users will be demonstrated, highlighting how they can benefit. Goals include sharing information about the system’s status and use, showcasing user interaction examples, identifying expectations and requirements for future adaptations, fostering dialogue between stakeholders and potential partners, attracting interested parties, and exploring ways to enhance interaction and engagement.
The event is hosted by EUMETSAT and will offer both in-person attendance and remote participation via webstream, a dedicated Q&A tool, live polling, and interactive chat platforms. Training sessions on how to use the newly launched Destination Earth platform will also be provided and streamed to attendees.
Participation
The User eXchange welcomes participants from the scientific community, as well as public and private entities seeking to develop or implement policies that can benefit from DestinE capabilities. This event is ideal for those currently engaged with DestinE or interested in gaining deeper insights into its potential.
