EDIH Good practice: Geospatial Challenge Camp – Location data innovations for the health & wellbeing sector
Train the Trainer course on Thursday 29 August 2024 (10:00-11:00 CEST).
The first part of the course provides useful and reusable data on location intelligence in the health and wellbeing sector, including technologies, applications, and benefits.
The second part presents the Finnish good practice “Geospatial Challenge Camp” – an innovative initiative designed to strengthen geospatial competence and innovation ecosystem through cross fertilization of research, innovation, business and sustainable development expertise.
The Geospatial Challenge Camp (GCC) is a 10-week challenge-based event, as well as a course, that provides young university researchers and students, and public/private sector professionals, the opportunity to tackle relevant real-world hurdles. The main focus of the GCC is on the co-creation of geospatial data and digital technology solutions that have the potential to deliver sustainability gains/benefits for both users and society. Healthcare (including health and well-being) is a key application sector.
The GCC concept and work model was co-created by the University of Turku, Aalto University, National Land Survey and Finland and CSC. The GCC was organised for the first time in 2023.
