About the Speaker
Benedikt Gräler is a managing director at 52°North Spatial Information Research GmbH, a position he has held since May 2021. He is responsible for the company’s research and maintains relationships with academic partners. As Managing Director and Head of Research, he steers the company’s focus on developing innovative methods and open-source software for spatial data and information infrastructures.
About the Projects
🔹 I-CISK (Innovating Climate Services through Integrating Scientific and Local Knowledge) co-develops climate services with end users across seven Living Labs in Europe and beyond — covering agriculture, water management, and tourism.
🔹 DIRECTED (Disaster Resilience for Extreme Climate Events) strengthens Europe’s disaster preparedness and climate resilience through interoperable data, cross-sector models, and robust governance frameworks.
Together, these Horizon Europe projects are turning science into action, empowering Europe to build a more climate-resilient future.
